Our AOP Costières de Nîmes

OUR AOP Costières de Nîmes

Our AOP Costières de Nîmes terroir covers a large part of our vineyard. This terroir is characterised by key features such as a Rhodanian terrace, made up of the rolled pebbles typical of the Rhône Valley, which stores heat and thus preserves the freshness and purity of the grapes when faced with significant variations between day and night-time temperatures.

  • In addition, specific grape varieties adapt perfectly to the clay-limestone soils, enabling deep roots to develop, which then capture a moderate supply of water during periods of drought.
  • The Mediterranean climate is characterised in part by the Mistral wind, and a highly variable rainfall between seasons.
  • Concerning the grape varieties, Syrah and Grenache Noir make up the majority of our reds and rosés. We add a modern touch with Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault, which bring aromas of black fruit and garrigue.

Our white grape varieties include Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne and Rolle.

Our AOP Costières de Nîmes wines are convivial and full of character, with a fine tannic structure and, for the reds and rosés, superb aromas. Our whites are expressive and lively.

    MILLE X- RÉSERVE

The Mille X “La Promesse” range is named after the 10th milestone (“Mille X”) on the Via Domitia linking Nîmes to Beaucaire. It stands on a plot of vines belonging to our cooperative in Jonquières St-Vincent.

These elegant and convivial wines illustrate perfectly our terroir, and clearly demonstrate the expertise and knowledge of the Vignerons Créateurs.

    An exceptional millésime

2016 was an exceptional year for our vineyards, and so for this cuvée we selected our best parcels in the AOP Costières de Nîmes. From the vine to the glass, this wine is the result of the passion demonstrated by our oenologists. Grapes were totally destemmed and then fermented in temperature-controlled vats. Maceration lasted for a month, punctuated by daily processes of pumping over and rack and return. This wine then continued its journey with aging in new barrels for 36 months before a final aging in bottles, arriving on the market in December 2021.
